For starters, a huge -ThankYou
- to my very patient and amazing customers, who have been more than happy to bare with me while I have struggled to catch up this past year. A lot of things have happened in that time, and I appreciate every last one of you for making it so much easier on me than you needed to. You're all great people! <3
So, exciting news!? : I have decided on a name/brand for my business, and I couldn't be happier!
The past few days have been filled with much logo designing, preparing lists of what I will need to purchase, researching prices and such. I have so many great ideas mapped out, and it's more exciting than ever to see this finally becoming a reality. I feel like there's no way I'd be this far right now without such loyal customers, and being fortunate to always work with such friendly and considerate people.
exciting news!? : I have a job interview!
I have applied to a sewing/alterations shop for a Part-Time position, and have a trial day coming up very soon. I'm very excited, as this is actually the first job I've ever been interviewed for!
If I am to get this job, the extra money would be a blessing to kick-start my business in the New Year. 2016.------Immediate changes;
*Prices will be in Australian Dollars.
*Only 3 commission slots per month.
*$20 deposit required - Full payment for each plush not accepted until previous project is completed.
These small changes will not only help keep me on track while I get back into the swing of things, but it will also allow me the freedom to work on other projects, and dedicate more time to my business.
Not only that, but with a little extra freedom, I will have more than enough time to focus on giving my customers an even more intimate experience of their commission progress. This means more frequent and in-depth updates, including (good quality) photographs, concept sketches for approval before the process, and the added ability to notice any imperfections or changes that need to be fixed along the way.
I will then also have the extra time to start using my social medias more constantly, which means uploading a lot more WIPs, exclusive photos, even tutorials, competitions, and more!
So I'm not sure how long this will actually take, but I'm giving myself a whole 6 months to see how things turn out.. Whether or not I am employed by this time, I will be really focusing on saving for all the things I will need before changing over my business. This includes things like business cards, packaging materials, office supplies, web-domain, etc. I will also be working a website design, and a new layout for each of my web pages.
By this time, I hope to be consistently producing good-quality products in a very reasonable time frame, and to hopefully have increased my audience somewhat through social media interaction.
------This is where Kickstarter
comes in. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the site, but in-case you aren't; You basically just create a project, and let everyone know what you're trying to do, and they will donate to you if they would like to see it work. In most cases, the project creator also provides small rewards in return for donating, which is usually related to the project in some way.
I have a huge amount of work to get to before I start getting ahead of myself, but that's the general sequence of events I have planned for the first 6 months of 2016. If we end up getting to the Kickstarter, I have some great things in store for you guys in the future.
Sorry to keep giving you guys all this information without having anything flashy to show off to you yet, but I like putting it out there incase people are curious, or bored and feel like having a read.
Have a great day!
